Remember last time doing Mahler 8th in Hong Kong?

Stop paying the M$ tax. Use a free operating system and forget about viruses.

The old boy's new toy: Asus Eee PC 900.

I have documented some of my software customizations to its default system. Unfinished, very brief and geeky though.

It was in middle school age when I became hooked to logic programming; that was after I read a (Chinese) book about introduction to Prolog.

I maintains my own logical interpreter and tools called singlog suite and always have fun with it :-P I hope it will be useful to the world someday. Recently I developed a C version here.

Also I was interested in developing my operating system.

Simon Tatham, author of the great terminal program PuTTY, also wrote a list of fun graphical puzzle games, neat and nice and portable between Windows and Unix. All of them require some brain work to solve; while some are easy, many are incredibly hard.

Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection

You may already knew about the game Sudoku; it is featured in this collection under another name "Solo." I particularly enjoy playing "loopy" in this collection.

Good tools lead to high productivity. Humble suggestions on choosing terminals and text editors.

Having headache finding a good Monospaced fonts? You may already heard of Consolas which is good in bold point 8 or 10, on a Microsoft system. Other less famous but good ones that I use are: LettrGoth12 BT (for its supreme clarity and readability), or P22 Typewriter as an interesting alternative. Unfortunately Windows' font rendering is much worse than that of MacOSX or Ubuntu.

Apart from vim or eclipse, I still recommend Crimson Editor as the daily text editor. Version outdated, but fast and useful. And if you have large piles of data to filter and process, a traditional OS/390 ISPF editor (hardly accessible) or clones like SPFLite are unbeatable. (Yes I was a mainframer!)
