時間:Thu Nov 15 22:06:10 2007Just went to a full-time job interview today. The first time for last four years. (That was as introduced by SYM. So a name really mean something - Find Job and you can find a job!?)
The whole thing was arranged in a very asap manner - sent resume yesterday night, finally being called at 1547 and interview is then half an hour later. It is actually an architect company requiring one or two IT staff. A very typical office sight and first thing to notice might be people dressed really casually. The receptionist kept on reminding me to return the pen I borrowed (that I might stole it? And, yet, I really forgot and left it in the room...)
I just tried to be honest and kept little humble throughout. The Managing Director is a very traditional Chinese good kind old man 老好人. The other interviewer is a more "eager" person. Their introduction first. My turn to introduce myself is getting easier than the fresh graduate me, at the very least, I have 4 years of stuff to talk about now. I thought people would say "You worked so long on xxxx. Do you still know PC?", but they actually say "Oh you know xxxx. Working on PC must be piece of cake to you." Their IT dept was cut from 1x people to a One-man-band.
For what the new hire will do here - some PC work and tender work that are said as easy, but same time challenging (did not really understand). The work might be even less technical in content; I am not sure if that would fit me. On the other hand, unlike now, there might be no mentors. And, gosh, MCSE is a requirement.
On the pay, I wrote what I got in current job and they expressed no concern. (I think they are rich actually.) I still want to kept the date I told to EC before, rather than start earlier.
It is now getting headache again in how to answer properly. Since it is a recommendation by friend, fleeing after acceptance will be very frustrated to all. However I do not want to be trapped in the first interview yet!!...
So things ain't really finished after you resign.
